Mona was my heart dog. She was tuned in to me in so many ways. She and I learned to show together and she taught me so much.
She had fluid movement that was such a pleasure to watch. I really couldn't of asked for a better temperament, although she did have her stubborn moments.
Mona never really liked the show ring, so after she refused to run around the ring for the judges viewing the last time that she was entered in Veterans Class, I promised that she would not have to do that again. So she was officially retired from the show ring and was much happier just going to the shows to hang out!
Of course, she ran around at home just fine! Did I say stubborn?
Mona had three litters for a total of 23 pups. She was a good mom, but was happy to let Toffee nanny her last litter. They were the A, B, and C litters, and you can visit them on their litter pages.
When we lost Mona she was almost 13 years of age. She
is now waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. She was a wonderful advocate of her Flat-Coated Retriever breed. We all miss her!
